Florida Is the Best State for Web3 | Blackrock Gets Sued Before BTC ETF Launch
Indeed, Governor DeSantis passed a bill in May that “prohibits the use of a federally adopted central bank digital currency (CBDC) by excluding it from the definition of money within Florida’s Uniform Commercial Code.” The bill also “prohibits foreign-issued CBDC to protect consumers against globalist efforts to adopt a worldwide digital currency,” according to the text of the bill.
“They came back to us, and they said . . . we believe every asset other than bitcoin is a security,” Armstrong said according to the FT. “And, we said, well how are you coming to that conclusion, because that’s not our interpretation of the law. And they said, we’re not going to explain it to you, you need to delist every asset other than bitcoin.”
